I got my 1994 TT about 5.5 yrs ago. It had 43,000 miles and had just turned 10 yrs old. The manual recommends that the cam belt be replaced at 60,000 mi or 10 yrs, whatever comes 1st. During my ownership, it has now accumulated 51,000 miles and aged to officially 17 years. The time has come for me to access the belt and replace it it for security sake. The accessory belts are the originals and look pretty good but their condition is no indication of the state of the timing belt. The engine has no leaks whatsoever of any kind so I am reluctatnt to do the whole 60K service at this time. At the rate I use this car it will be another 5 yrs before it reaches 60K. Should I replace the belt or do the the whole service?
